Thank you for tuning into "Starting Small", a podcast about brand development, entrepreneurship, and innovation in the modern world. In this episode, I am joined by Joe Foster, the founder behind the legendary brand we all know, Reebok. Born in 1935, Joe Grew up in Bolton, England, right in the midst of World War II. Joe's origin come from his grandfather Joseph, who owned J.W. Foster and Sons, a family shoe business out of Bolton. J.W. Foster and Sons was the pioneer behind creating the track spike, which revolutionized running as we know it today.
After returning from the war, Joe and his brother, Jeff, realized the rise in competitors, who were doing something that J.W. Foster and Sons wasn't evolving with... marketing. Joe and Jeff departed the family business in 1958 to create what is now known as Reebok. Listen as we talk about Joe's upbringing with the family business, Joe's transition to Reebok, and Joe's journey through story telling.
